PAGAN — Biography PAGAN is a Greek progressive ethnic band founded in 2020 by guitarist, composer and producer Stavros Tsoumanis. The band takes the primordial core of Greek and Balkan tradition and turns it into new, original music with an international outlook. It is not folk revival: it is new music that carries ancestral memory into the present. Fronted by actress and singer Evelyn Assouad, PAGAN’s live show is a complete stage work, with light, costume, scenography and theatre woven through every song. Audiences describe it as a mystagogy, a shared initiation into something ancient and alive. The name comes from the Latin paganus, the one who lives close to the land: a call to return to the root, and to an instinct we all carry but rarely recall. Traditional instruments (gaida, lute, tsambouna, santouri, bendir) meet electric guitars, bass and cinematic electronics. On stage each member carries an archetype: king, shaman, wise man, hunter, warrior, shepherd, and at the centre the high priestess. From a sold-out first night at Kyttaro in 2022 to the stage of Technopolis, the audience has been built entirely by word of mouth. The debut album is in progress. pagan.band · Booking & press: contact@pagan.band
